☄ 1 [voice | action]
[There's a fumbling noise, someone's fingers scraping across the journal after hitting 'record' and a low groan before the sound of crunching snow.]
Ugh... Jeez... I. Guess that explosion was bigger than I thought.
[beat.]
Wait-- Where is everyone.
[Ooooh nononnoo this is bad. More snow crunches as the speaker gets to his feet, steps on the journal. After a minute of fumbling, the speaker's voice is louder, the journal closer to him now]
Okay. New clothes and this thing. And- [Wings. Ooooh man.] This... is bad.
...Recording, huh? [A minute while he looks the menu over and then the recording stops. Well. May as well send this to whatever network it's connected to. Maybe someone has answers.]
[Action; Outside the village, the scenery only looks different from where he'd just been watching his friends fighting so far as the snow and village in the distance. Mountains? Check. Trees and open areas? Double check. He's making the mental note of not seeing his clothes or sword anywhere nearby either and decides making his way to the village may be the best idea to get an idea of what's going on. He'll be outside and around the village for anyone to run into.]

[Video] Later that night
And today just happens to be one of those days. He notes that it sounds like his son has forgotten that he's even been here before. He doesn't remember any droids coming for Trunks, they'd of busted into the house and taken him, wouldn't they of? He would have remembered that. So it can't be him returning from an experiment, can it? It's been so long that he doesn't even think that it could be his son's future counterpart...]
Trunks, what happened? Did those blasted droids come for you while I was out? [Even though...even in his head that doesn't make sense. He'd be gone for at least a day if that was the case.]
[video] "Later that night" dbz narrator voice
No. They didn't.
[VEGETA DO NOT EVEN IMPLY THEY'RE HERE.]
[video] totally just heard it in that voice too
[video] good my job here is done
There are more than the two.
[More an echoing of Vegeta's statement than a question, really]
No, I didn't!
[What did Trunks think he was referring to, the androids? Jeez]
You are rude, sir.
Though there is something starting to nag at the back of his mind the longer he stares but he can't put a finger on it or words to it just yet.]
How has anyone not.
[No seriously even if this is further down the timeline enough that his alternate self is fully grown, nothing could change that much about the androids' programming.]
Why would they even listen to anyone else when they wouldn't listen to their creator, what are you talking about?!
[His finger is raised at the camera now, for emphasis.]
That nagging feeling is getting stronger and he can almost verbalize what it is but still not quite there yet.
But oh. ooooh wow two different conversations happening here, that. Explains a lot. Which means Vegeta hasn't realized it yet. His expression immediately loses all tension and is left just. Feeling embarrassed.]
I-- didn't realize that's who you were talking about.
[Said dangerously. Vegeta isn't happy with Trunks, but unfortunately he's not talking to the Trunks that he's unhappy with...]
Fine. I'm headed to the village.
But talking to him like a child just.]
Fine.
[video] -- [action]
It's about twenty minutes or so until he actually arrives home, plenty of time for the boys to beat him there. He's walking down the path, thinking of how he was going to discipline his big baby of a son. He can't believe he has to do this when Trunks is nearly thirty years old, but he was living under his roof still and that gives him all the permission in the world to treat him as he pleases, in his mind.]
[action]
[action]
There's two of them. One was his son, and the other...the other couldn't be...
It can't be...
He's got to be seeing things. He's just staring, silently, until he gains enough composure that he just turns around walks back outside. He knew it possible that duplicates of the same person could be here just...he never imagined that he would see his future son show up here.
He stands outside, right outside the door, in the cold, trying to make sense of it.]
[action]
Still.
He should. Probably explain that was him Vegeta was talking to on the network.]
Father...
[action]
And he hasn't seen him in so long. It's been over two decades, and under these circumstances does he get to see his son again. But what was worse, were all these problems with his present son concerning his future self...it just...it's a nightmare that he doesn't want to deal with but has to because it effects people he knows, people who are unavoidable...]
Trunks. It's really you, isn't it? The one from the future.
[action]
Yes.
[And lets out that breath he was holding. He's actually fairly surprised at how collected Vegeta seems to be from the start of this already.]
I was the one you... were talking to. Before.
[action]
[Because really, the cat was out of the bag already on that note.]
Well then. Welcome to Luceti. Seems I missed out on all the fun earlier.
[action]
So this isn't the Otherworld or the future, then?
